MANILA, Philippines—After Converge’s stellar outing in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup, Charles Tiu stepped down from his post as assistant coach for the FiberXers.
Tiu confirmed the developments with Inquirer Sports on Thursday, saying one of the reasons he resigned was to give more attention to his other job, which is coaching the College of St. Benilde’s men’s basketball team in the NCAA.

With Tiu helping on the sidelines, the FiberXers had one of their most respectable runs in the ongoing import-laden conference, where they finished with an 8-4 card.
The FiberXers bowed to Rain or Shine in the quarterfinals but they’re still brimming with talents like Justin Baltazar, Alec Stockton, Justine Arana and Jordan Heading among others.

Now, Tiu will be fully focused on the Blazers’ redemption rally in NCAA Season 101 after falling short of winning the Season 100 title.
As for his plans beyond the upcoming NCAA tournament? Only time will tell.
“Nothing is final, will see how the season will go. We take it one day at a time, I don’t look too far ahead,” he said.
